Product walkthrough

One vehicle. The whole workflow.

Follow a customer visit from booking through inspection, approval, repair, payment and the next reminder. This walkthrough uses sample situations and does not create shop records.

  1. Step 1 of 8

    Booked

    Book the visit

A returning customer requests a seasonal tire change.

Find the client and vehicle, choose the service and review the available time with the assigned mechanic. Online bookings use the shop's configured hours and availability.

    See booking setup
  2. Step 2 of 8

    Checked in

    Check in the vehicle

The vehicle arrives and the front desk confirms the job.

Open the client and vehicle record, confirm the requested service and note the mileage and the customer's concern before pricing the work.

    See client records
  3. Step 3 of 8

    Estimating

    Prepare the estimate

The shop lists the proposed service and any required parts.

Review quantities, prices and totals before sharing the estimate with the customer.

    See the estimate workflow
  4. Step 4 of 8

    Awaiting approval

    Capture the approval

The customer reviews the estimate and responds.

After the customer responds through the shop's normal process, record their decision. GarageOS keeps a traceable record of what was approved and when.

    See approval recording
  5. Step 5 of 8

    In progress

    Do the approved work

The mechanic starts on the approved job.

The shop works from the approved estimate. The front desk stays aligned on what's confirmed without needing to re-explain the scope.

  6. Step 6 of 8

    Ready for pickup

    Update the customer

The job is finished and the vehicle is ready.

Let the customer know their vehicle is ready using a branded email or text, when delivery is configured for your shop.

    See delivery requirements
  7. Step 7 of 8

    Invoiced

    Invoice and record payment

The completed job is ready to be invoiced.

Convert the estimate to a draft invoice, review it and share it with the customer. After collecting payment through the shop's usual process, record it against the invoice.

    See payment recording
  8. Step 8 of 8

    Reminder set

    Keep the relationship going

The service done today has a natural next visit.

Attach a maintenance reminder to the vehicle so the next service — and the next visit — doesn't get forgotten.
